Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding Policy Statement

Milton Keynes Bridgebuilder Trust is a movement made up of volunteers and paid staff.  We believe that all human beings are of equal worth in the sight of God and aim to follow biblical principles in all that we do.

Therefore:

  • We commit ourselves to the nurture, protection, and safekeeping of all, especially children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • It is the responsibility of each one of us to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and to report any abuse suspected or discovered.
  • In order to achieve this, we are committed to supporting, resourcing and training those who work with children, young people and vulnerable adults. We will provide appropriate supervision and recognise mutual accountability.

It is also understood that each of us commit to high standards of ethics and behaviour, and because most work is school-based, personal and professional conduct mirrors that of the Personal and Professional Conduct outlined in the Teachers` Standards (2011 DfE) including aiming to ensure that “personal beliefs are not expressed in ways which exploit pupils’ vulnerability or might lead them to break the law” and also “tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
