Sam Downton, long time supporter of Bridgebuilder, is running in the London Marathon on Sunday 24th April this year. She writes,
Anyone who has ever run a spring marathon knows how hard the training can be – long runs through the dark, cold winter months, the ups, the downs and the sideways. All weathers, all moods, all emotions (sometimes all in the same run!). After the last marathon (Nottingham) I said that was it, I was done with marathon running! Three days later I received a letter through the post congratulating me on winning a place in the London Marathon. It’s taken eight years of trying to win a place in the ballot for this famous race – and the many weeks of training since doing so will hopefully pay off in a successful completion of the course (in fancy dress – see one of my previous costumes in the photo!). This year I am celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday (April 21st) with a jubilee themed costume including headgear, legwarmers and skirt! Please support my efforts – I am raising money for Bridgebuilder Trust (https://my.give.net/samsmarathon).
